The case against Nana Rybena and Way Thaitanium has shifted from a "business misunderstanding" to a full-blown criminal investigation involving allegations of a meticulously planned Ponzi scheme. As of late January 2026, the total estimated damages have surged to 195 million Baht.
The investigation by the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD) has moved beyond just Nana, officially dragging Way into the legal battle.
Against Way Thaitanium (Prinya Intachai):
Joint Fraud (14 Million Baht): Way has been formally notified of a joint fraud charge involving a businessman who transferred 14 million baht into Way’s personal bank account in 10 installments. While Way claims he was "unaware" of the source, police are investigating his direct receipt of these funds.
The 50 Million Baht Stock Scam: A separate complaint alleges Way used the name of a prominent businessman without permission to lure a victim into a 50 million baht non-existent stock investment.
Money Laundering Probe: Police are currently investigating whether Way participated in hiding the "missing" millions. A Ledger Nano X crypto wallet was seized from their home, and cyber experts are working to determine if the defrauded funds were converted into digital assets.
Against Nana Rybena (Rybena Intachai):
Public Fraud & Illegal Lending: Charged under the Emergency Decree on Money Lending for running a scheme promising 4–7% monthly returns on "virtual businesses."
Document Forgery: Investigators found evidence that Nana forged bank transfer slips and share transfer documents to trick friends into believing their investments were growing.
Cheque Fraud: Nana is accused of issuing multiple post-dated cheques that bounced once the scheme collapsed in early 2025.
The Betrayal: Famous Friends & Inner Circle Impacted
What makes this case particularly damaging is the "Angel Gang" connection. The couple allegedly leveraged their celebrity status to drain the bank accounts of those closest to them including::
Janie Tienphosuwan and member of the Angel Gang, reportedly lost 3-5 million Baht in a fictitious project to open a restaurant in the U.S. She is a primary complainant
"Day" Thaitanium, Way’s own bandmate. Way admitted to "borrowing" 2 million Baht from Day to cover "liquidity issues" as the scam began to unravel.
International School Parents, a large group of wealthy parents from their children's school were allegedly targeted, with combined losses nearing 100 million Baht.
The "Silent" Celebrities. Police indicate that several other high-profile figures have been "summoned as witnesses" but are hesitant to file formal charges out of embarrassment or hope for a private settlement.
Reports indicate that the betrayal of the "Angel Gang" (which includes celebs like Janesuda Parnto, Janie Tienphosuwan, Paula Taylor, and others) was a central factor in the case's high profile. Nana allegedly admitted in a social media apology that her fear of being "banished from the gang" prevented her from being honest about her financial struggles, leading her to deepen the deceptive "personal loan" cycle to maintain her lavish lifestyle.
The Current Standoff
Nana is currently out on 1 million Baht bail and is under court-ordered supervision from a psychosocial consultant. Her travel has been restricted, and authorities have already seized over 10 million Baht in assets, including Hermes Birkin bags, luxury jewelry, and a Mini Cooper.
Police are currently investigating whether Way participated in hiding the "missing" millions. A Ledger Nano X crypto wallet was seized from their home, and cyber experts are working to determine if the defrauded funds were converted into digital assets.
The defense maintains a "lack of intent" defense, claiming the couple were merely struggling with business liquidity and intended to pay everyone back. However, with the discovery of forged documents and non-existent businesses, the "unintentional" defense is rapidly thinning.
