In late 2025, the Thai entertainment industry was rocked by a high-profile fraud investigation involving actress and socialite Rybena “Nana” Intachai and her husband, Thai-American rapper Prinya “Way” Intachai, better known as Way Thaitanium. The case, which involves allegations of a massive loan-fraud and pyramid-style investment scheme, has left dozens of victims, including celebrity friends, claiming losses nearing 200 million baht (~$6.3 million USD)

The Scheme: A Celebrity "Angel" Falls

Investigators from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) allege that Nana Rybena leveraged her celebrity status and personal connections to solicit investments in what she claimed was a personal loan lending business and other ventures.

  • The Hook: Victims were promised monthly returns of 4–7% or up to 40% in separate sports-related investments.

  • The Deception: Police found evidence of doctored bank transfer slips used to convince investors their funds were being actively moved.

  • The Collapse: By early 2025, payments reportedly stopped. In September 2025, Nana allegedly admitted to some victims that no actual business existed and funds were used for personal benefit.

  • Total Damages: Initial reports cited 152.9 million baht, but as more victims came forward, the figure rose to approximately 195 million baht ($5.6 million USD).

What Way Thaitanium Knew vs. Didn't Know

A central focus of the investigation is the role of Way Thaitanium. While he has been formally notified of joint fraud charges, his legal defense centers on a lack of awareness regarding the source of the funds.

Evidence and Legal Status

Authorities have seized several assets, including a Ledger Nano X hardware wallet used for digital assets, which Nana claimed belonged to her husband.

  • Way Thaitanium: Reported to the ECD on December 12, 2025, to acknowledge charges of joint fraud. He remains in Thailand and has cooperated with investigators, maintaining his innocence and citing that he never personally solicited investments.

  • Nana Rybena: Faces charges of collusion to commit fraud, operating a fraudulent loan scheme, and forgery. She was arrested on December 3, 2025, and later released on 1 million baht bail with a travel ban. She denies all charges, claiming she did not know the lending scheme was illegal.

Implications and Fallout

The scandal has had immediate professional and personal consequences for the couple:

  • Financial Strain: The couple's barbershop shares reportedly plummeted in value from 300 million baht to 180 million baht.

  • Career Impact: Multiple sponsors have withdrawn from concerts, and the couple's luxury home is currently up for sale to help cover liabilities.

  • Personal Life: Reports indicate Way has focused on caring for their children while Nana handles the legal proceedings with her sister’s support.
