Move over action blockbusters, the most powerful cinematic force coming out of Thailand in 2026 isn't a superhero at all, it’s a stray dog. GDH 559, the powerhouse studio behind global sensations like Bad Genius and How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, has officially pulled back the curtain on its most ambitious emotional journey yet with Gohan. Centered on a resilient stray dog named Gohan, the film follows a decade-long odyssey through the lives of three different owners, weaving a tapestry of joy, sorrow, and the invisible threads that bind humans to their four-legged companions. This high-concept drama designed to explore the "pituitary" of human emotion, that raw, hormonal surge of unconditional love and the crushing weight of inevitable goodbyes, promises to take the 2026 box office by storm.

The creative muscle behind Gohan is a veritable dream team of Thai cinema. In a rare Triple Threat directorial approach, the film is helmed by three of the industry's most acclaimed visionaries: Chayanop Boonprakob (Friend Zone), Atta Hemwadee (Not Friends), and the internationally renowned Baz Poonpiriya (Bad Genius, One for the Road).
This trio ensures each "chapter" of Gohan’s life carries a distinct artistic signature while maintaining a cohesive, heart-tugging narrative. Producing the project is the legendary Vanridee Pongsittisak, the hitmaker responsible for Thailand’s recent box-office record-breakers, alongside Baz Poonpiriya, whose personal dedication to animal rescue brings an authentic, soulful depth to every frame of the production.
The star-studded cast further elevates the hype, led by the meteoric Tu Tontawan Tantivejakul, who continues her streak of prestige projects following her breakout success in F4 Thailand. Joining her is the charismatic Jaonaay Jinjett Wattanasin and an impressive international ensemble including Japanese actor Ohmi Ryota and Burmese star Poe Mamhe Thar. Together, they portray the various "temporary" humans in Gohan’s life, reflecting the changing landscape of Thai society over ten years. As GDH gears up for this release, the message is clear, Gohan is set to be the definitive tear-jerker of the decade, proving once again that some of the greatest stories ever told don’t need a single word of dialogue from the main character, just a wagging tail and a loyal heart.
