In a match that will be talked about for decades, the Thailand Women’s National Volleyball Team has done it again, capturing their 17th SEA Games Gold Medal and their 15th consecutive title!
It wasn't just a win; it was a heart-stopping, five-set roller coaster that proved why Thailand is the undisputed heartbeat of Southeast Asian volleyball.

Grab your pom-poms and some yadom, because we’re diving into the epic journey of our favorite "War Elephants!"
The Golden Roster: Meet Your Heroes
This year’s squad was a perfect blend of legendary "Fab Six" spirit and explosive new energy. Led by the tactical genius of Coach "Aot" Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, here are the superstars who brought the gold home:
Chatchu-on Moksri (C): Outside Hitter and fearless Captain! "Bumbim" is the emotional anchor and a scoring machine who can find a gap in any defense.
Pornpun Guedpard: Setter and incomparable "Maestro." Her no-look sets and lightning-fast distribution make the game look like a choreographed dance.
Pimpichaya Kokram: Opposite. "Beam" is the hammer! When she jumps, the floor shakes. Her service ace in the final set was the stuff of legends.
Thatdao Nuekjang: Middle Blocker. "Toey" is the Great Wall of Thailand. Her slide attacks are unstoppable, and her blocks are pure intimidation.
Sasipaporn Janthawisut: Outside Hitter. The spark plug! "Aom" provides incredible depth and power, stepping up in the biggest moments of the tournament.
Wimonrat Thanapan: Middle Blocker. The rising star! "Kai" has proven she belongs with the best, showing agility and instinct far beyond her years.
Piyanut Pannoy: Libero. The "Vacuum Cleaner." If the ball is headed for the floor, "Paen" is already there to dig it up with a smile.
The Road to the Final: A Path of Dominance
Thailand didn't just walk to the final; they danced through it!
Group Stage: The Warm-Up
Thailand started Group A with a message: "The throne is ours." They dismantled Singapore and the Philippines in back-to-back 3-0 sweeps. The match against the Philippines was a highlight reel in itself, with Pimpichaya racking up 14 points and the team showing a level of defensive coordination that left the opposition breathless.
The Semifinal: Masterclass against Indonesia
In the semis, Thailand faced a spirited, youthful Indonesian side. Despite the energy of the challengers, the Thais were clinical. Winning 25-15, 25-21, 25-15, the team secured their place in the final without dropping a single set in the entire tournament.
The Grand Finale: A Five-Set Epic Against Vietnam
Monday, December 15th, will be remembered as the "Drama at Huamark." Thailand faced their perennial rivals, Vietnam, led by the incredible Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
Vietnam came out swinging, stunning the home crowd by taking the first set 25-19. You could feel the tension in the air, was an upset brewing? Not on our watch! Thailand roared back, taking the second (25-13) and third (25-18) sets with ruthless efficiency.
But Vietnam refused to go away, gritting out a 25-23 win in the fourth set to force a decider.
The Deciding Fifth Set: 15 Points of Pure Adrenaline
The fifth set was the definition of a "nail-biter." Point for point, block for block, the two teams traded blows. At one point, Thailand trailed 5-10! The crowd was on its feet, the players were drenched in sweat, and every serve felt like a mountain.
But that "Thai Spirit" kicked in. Behind the serving of Pimpichaya and the leadership of Chatchu-on, the Thais clawed back to a deuce. At 24-23, a final rally ended with a Vietnamese error, and the stadium erupted! Thailand won the final set 25-23, clinching the match 3-2.
Why This Gold Matters
This isn’t just another medal for the trophy cabinet. This victory was about redemption and resilience. Having lost to Vietnam earlier in the year at the SEA V.League, the Thai women had a point to prove.
As the national anthem played and the gold medals were placed around their necks, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. This team represents the best of Thailand: hard work, incredible skill, and a "never-give-up" attitude that inspires millions.
"We played with our hearts today,"
Captain Chatchu-on said through tears of joy. "This gold is for every Thai fan who cheered for us."
Congratulations to the Queens of the Court! Thailand is proud of you!
